Add to this a band of mutinous servants, a gang of vengeful circus performers, an elephant named Fingers and lots of bees, and poor Sunny is about to become embroiled in an adventure sillier, scarier and smellier than he had ever imagined. Philip Ardagh is a master storyteller and he narrates this tale with zest, irreverence and a keen sense of the absurd.

Packed with jokes and characters as weird and wonderful as you could possibly hope for, this new series is destined to be adored by young readers. He is probably best known for his Eddie Dickens adventures, translated into over thirty languages, and for his Grubtown Tales , but he is author of over books. Philip Ardagh is two metres tall with a ridiculously big, bushy beard and size sixteen feet, making him an instantly recognisable figure at literary festivals around the world. Axel was born in Hamburg, Germany. At school he was good at art, but didn't think of a career in illustration until he won a cuddly purple cow in a drawing competition.
The Grunts in Trouble
He moved to England in to study illustration at the Bath Academy of Art, and then set up home in London. He was the illustrator for Julia Donaldson's first picture book, A Squash and a Squeeze - the start of a hugely successful partnership. Their bestselling modern classic, The Gruffalo , has sold millions of copies. His books have been translated into 42 languages. This field is required. Funny and full of fabulous artwork. Together the unusual family find themselves in frankly improbable but very funny adventures involving bendy railings, double-barrelled shotguns, full-fat yoghurt and, always, a beard of bees.
